Find the official cloakroom and read the current entry signs before joining the queue.

If you can see the temple from a permitted place outside, take a moment to look up. You are looking at Somnath. Before we begin, give yourself permission to slow down. You do not need to see everything at once.

There is one important practical detail. The Somnath Trust says phones, cameras, smartwatches and other electronic equipment are not permitted inside the temple. Listen to the first stories before entering, then leave your device in the designated cloakroom. The Trust lists the cloakroom and shoe-storage services as free. Follow the staff and the signs you find today.

Temple entry itself is listed as free. The published darshan window is six in the morning to ten at night, with aarti at seven in the morning, noon, and seven in the evening. These are published timings, not a live schedule.

Before putting your phone away, remember three things to notice: the rising outline of the tower, the rhythm of carved surfaces, and the difference between looking at a monument and entering a place where people worship. Carry those questions with you. The guide can wait.
